How CBT treatment works
First Sessions
In the first sessions we assess your situation. We will discuss together your issues and what you hope to achieve through therapy. You will be asked a lot of questions about your life in order for me to understand the issues that you have.
This is also an opportunity for us to see if we are a good fit to work together through your issues. For Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to work, we have to be able to work together in order for the therapy to be effective.
Depending how the initial session goes, we may require additional sessions to further discuss your issues. So that a plan of treatment can be formulated.
Therapy sessions normally last for 50 minutes and normally through Zoom.
Ongoing Sessions
Once the treatment plan has been created. Your ongoing sessions will be your opportunity to address the problems that led you to seek treatment. CBT is an active form of therapy that focuses on not only developing new skills but putting them into practice. It's about problem solving rather than going over and over the past.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy enables you to learn techniques that can help you navigate life in a more fulfilling way in the future.
Final CBT Sessions
Your therapy is based around goals, once you have learned the skills to achieve them, the frequency of your sessions will reduce.
Some people spend years in traditional forms of therapy. CBT has been proven to reduce the time in therapy considerably.
